We officially said goodbye to Thailand today. Fortunately, the flights seem to be going much faster than anticipated. Or, at least they were before we got to San Francisco. I’m so sick at this point I’m miserable. Can’t get comfortable, can’t sleep, and I can’t stop blowing my nose. My head is spinning and I just want to be home and get into my bed for a few days.
I’m looking forward to being home, but not necessarily with all of the stresses, pressures, and distractions that seem so contrary to living a happy life. If you ever want to really know if our American way of life is the “best” as we’ve grown up to think, take a tour of rural Thailand from the back of a pickup truck. Get to know the people, experience the culture, and take the time to see how the other half lives. I guarantee at the very least you’ll have the greatest vacation ever, and probably much more.
